HIS GRACE BISHOP MICHAEL OPENS A NEW MISSION PARISH With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Michael of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey, Holy Apostles Orthodox Church was established to provide a living witness to the Gospel of OurLord and Savior Jesus Christ. Father Timothy Holowatch was appointed Priest-in-Charge of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church, while logistical support is provided by SS. Peter and Paul Church in Endicott, NY, as a missionary outreach of the parish. Sunday, August 8, 2010 marks the first Divine Liturgy at Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Lansing/Ithaca, NY.  Over 40 individuals ranging in ages from 5 to 85 attended the first liturgy.  Fr. Alexey Karlgut, the rector of Sts. Peter and Paul in Endicott, NY, served the liturgy, while Matushka Anastasia directed our small choir.   Following the liturgy, everyone enjoyed a lenten meal prepared by members of the parish.  It was good to see such a large turnout considering so many are on vacation.   We pray that others will come and experience the beauty of Orthodoxy as the living witness to Christ and His message of salvation.
